Since December 2022, I have been a prominent publishing contributor to Respect For Hair, responsible for 95% of articles.

Respect For Hair is a conversational, creative and informative digital publication targeted at hair professionals. Respect aims to inform, inspire and share brand stories and product innovations. I wrote and published articles based on current trends, shows, events, and artistic Hair and beauty collections. I also worked with brands to deliver engaging copy and written content for organised advertising campaigns. Helped share and develop brand identities and promote products and events.

The B Corp certification


Have you noticed a B Corp logo on the signs, tubs and ads for your favourite products? From Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to Aveda haircare, countless businesses are promoting their B Corp certified status; but what is a B Corp certification? It’s a big deal, and somewhat complex but we’ll break it down for you: 

Attaining a B Corp certification is measuring a company’s social and environmental impact. You need a B Lab company to award the certification following a thorough evaluation, the standards of which are highly demanding – it’s meant to be tough! For its part, a B Lab is a nonprofit network which aims to transform the global economy and help create a sustainable future…sounds promising.

Collections

To share inspiration and admirable work, I published collections. This includes choosing a layout and photo galleries to best display work in line with the digital magazine’s house style. Copy needed to reflect the aim and style of the collection while offering ways professionals could use the inspiration in their work.


Boys Don’t Cry

Boys Don’t Cry is a men’s collection by Sam Elliot at Toni&Guy in Covent Garden. We applaud his use of varying lengths and shapes to create images that are altogether striking and fashionable. It’s no surprise that Sam won the title Men’s Hairdresser of the Year at The British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional. Congratulations Sam.

Prism

Whether you love deep reds, bright yellows, or more natural colours, the looks in Prism by Suzie McGill are sure to catch your eye. This is a strong collection which certainly won’t go unnoticed. We can see why Prism won Suzie McGill the title of Schwarzkopf Professional British Colour Technician of the Year 2023 at the BHA’s. Huge congratulations to Suzie!

It’s always interesting to see touches of nature on the fashion runway.
